Science / Lurgashall Mill

This is a working water mill in daily use for grinding grain and producing the Museums' own flour.  The large scale mechanism is built chiefly of wood and iron and is a wonderful example of early engineering showing energy conversion, power transmission and gearing.   Click here for a video clip of the mechanism in action.
